An apology, an explanation, and a rather cool thought

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I've taken so much time to get another post up here. Given that my only computer is a smartphone, the process of typing any communication is laborious at best and like pulling fingernails at worst.

Because the process takes do long, I also tend to lose track of my original point before I've fully explained and explored it. So I'm going to keep this one short.

Last week was spent exploring the nature of worship and power of intercession. While the entire week was exciting (look out, church, I've got some ideas!), there was one observation that really rocked my world.

Remember the Dominion Mandate in the beginning of Genesis?

" God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”" Genesis 1:28

Whenever I've heard this passage preached on, the sermon generally involves extolling the value of children and discussing the extent of man's kingship over the earth. However, the people here in YWAM believe that the dominion mandate also gives man authority over everything spiritual that happens on earth.

(that's such a large rabbit to chase I'm going to leave it for another time, but sneak peeks can be find in Ezekiel 22:30 and Amos 3:17)

Ok. You just finished checking those Bible verses and are now thoroughly convinced I'm losing my mind. You're not far from the truth of the matter. The short version is that:
1. God gives authority to Adam and Eve.
2. Satan steals authority when Eve and Adam eat the apple/pomegranate/fruit thing
3. Jesus takes authority back when he resurrects.
4. Jesus gives authority back to humanity in Matthew 28:16-20

So here's the mind-blowing thought.

The Great Commission given in Matthew 28:19-20 is the New Covenant's Dominion Mandate.

" 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." "

The comparison isn't a one-for-one match, but the idea USA essentially the same: fill the earth with followers of God. Procreation is optional but encouraged.

I guess words can't fully describe how cool I find this, but I figured I'd share it with you all. :)
